The protagonist is a healer whose efforts to stem the onset of diseases and other problems brought inadvertently by intruders from our world become increasingly desperate. A financier is apparently murdered by a mysterious new weapon, but although his body is functionally dead, his personality has been set free and roams about spying out secrets before finally returning to reanimate his own corpse and tell all. The child in this case is conceived through rape and acquires supernatural powers as a consequence, but the climax is predictable and somewhat flat.
