These ants do not eat the leaves they harvest, but instead cut leaves from plants and carry them back to the colony to be ground into a paste. Venom toxicity: The Red-Back spider can inflict a painful bite which can be fatal, especially to the young and elderly. The palps are 20% of male's body mass in this species, and detaching one of the two improves mobility. These are very adaptable and successful insects. Mud dauber wasps tug on spider webs to mimic an entangled insect, then grab the spider and sting it into paralysis. Cats are very sensitive to the venom, which is 15 times stronger than a rattlesnake’s. They have eight legs and a bunch of messed-up looking eyes. Paint the top of the styrofoam ball red with acrylic paint. Inside I was freaking out, but on the outside I kept it cool and I was pretty excited. All of us know how to protect ourselves using methods that are very similar to those of the spider.

That is roughly 100 spiders per square meter. A great example is the southern black widow spider (Latrodectus mactans). Know what species are common in your region. If you live in New York, you probably aren't going to encounter the fearsome banana spider (although it's certainly not impossible).
